Shanghai Non-carbon Energy Conversion and Utilization Institute, a subject of the "Energy Science and Technology" category in Shanghai's IV Peak Program for Universities, is jointly established by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, in collaboration with the university of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai University of Electric Power, and Shanghai Normal University. The institute focuses on achieving China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, specifically targeting zero-carbon electricity and zero-carbon fuels. It conducts research in three main directions: solar and wind energy technologies, new power technologies based on renewable energy sources, and renewable synthetic fuel technologies.
