Recently, Professor Guangzhao Mao, Dean of the School of Engineering, University of Edinburgh, and his delegation visited College of Smart Energy, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The delegation included Ian Underwood, Director of International Affairs of the School of Engineering, Anthony Callanan, Deputy Dean for Teaching, and Dr Wei Li, Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering.

Academician Huang Zhen, Founding Dean of the College of Smart Energy, Professor Liu Xiaojing, Executive Vice Dean, Professor Han Dong, Vice Dean, together with faculty members from relevant research areas of College of Smart Energy, met with the guests and held a discussion.

Academician Huang Zhen extended a warm welcome to Dean Guangzhao Mao and the delegation, and reviewed the history of exchanges and cooperation between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Edinburgh. He noted that both sides enjoy a solid foundation for collaboration in energy and environmental fields. Taking this visit as an opportunity, he looked forward to further deepening ties in talent development, academic exchange and research cooperation.

Dean Guangzhao Mao expressed gratitude for the college’s hospitality. He also voiced his expectation to boost exchanges and collaboration with the college, so as to leverage complementary strengths and pursue coordinated development.

The delegation also visited the College’s Energy Square and Digital Smart Energy Platform, and learned about its practical achievements in smart energy applications and campus smart development.
