Release time:2026-06-10 views:64
On June 5, the 2nd session of the Smart Energy Talk themed The Digital Catalyst: AI, Data, and Automation was successfully held as a lunch seminar in the lecture hall on the second floor of the West Multi-Function Building, CSE.

We were honored to invite Yang Menghao, Associate Professor at CSE, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Mohamed Ait Tamerd, Postdoctoral Researcher from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tongji University; and Zheng Xiaofan, Postdoctoral Researcher at CSE, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as guest speakers. More than 40 participants, including faculty, students engaged in relevant research and administrative staff of the institute, attended the event. The forum was moderated by Chair Professor Nicolas Alonso-Vante.
This workshop focused on the key industry bottleneck: the speed of discovery and delved into the innovative applications and enabling value of artificial intelligence in the fields of catalysis and electrocatalysis.
In the discussion session, faculty members, postdoctoral researchers and students actively raised questions and engaged in in-depth discussions on the application of artificial intelligence in catalysis and electrocatalysis. They exchanged views on key topics such as simulating atomic interactions via machine learning atomic potential functions and the industrialization bottlenecks of interface regulation for solid-state batteries.

Dr. Mohamed Ait Tamerd and Professor Nicolas Alonso-Vante answered questions in detail one by one. They shared research ideas and practical expertise based on their own experience and held in-depth academic exchanges with the audience, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere.
As the 4th session of the Catalysis & Electrocatalysis Seminar Series, this Smart Energy Talk workshop centered on AI, data and automation. It has successfully built a high-quality platform for international academic communication, laying a solid foundation for the institute to carry out international research cooperation, joint talent training, and drive scientific and technological innovation in new energy and carbon peaking and carbon neutrality fields.
