On December 7, the first National "AI + Energy" College Student Science and Technology Innovation Competition, sponsored by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), was held at the College of Smart Energy of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). Teams from Xi'an Jiaotong University, SJTU, Central South University, and Tianjin University won the grand prizes for their cutting-edge projects in fields such as intelligent boiler evaluation, fuel cell optimization, power electronics collaborative design, and smart heating inspection. These works demonstrated the outstanding innovative capabilities of young students in addressing national strategic needs. These innovative solutions have attracted key attention from leading energy and technology enterprises, including SPIC, State Grid, and Schneider Electric, with some projects expected to receive further incubation support opportunities after the competition.

Launched in August 2025, this national college student innovation competition received 257 entries from over 50 universities. The organizing committee selected more than 140 experts specializing in the interdisciplinary field of energy and AI from top universities, research institutions and leading enterprises to participate in the preliminary review and final evaluation. After multiple rounds of selection, 61 teams advanced to the finals, ultimately awarding 6 grand prizes, 18 first prizes, and 36 second prizes.

The host, CSE, is leveraging the competition as a driver to build a comprehensive new "AI + Energy" talent training system, responding to the urgent demand for interdisciplinary innovative professionals.
