October 20, 2025, Shanghai – A delegation from Khalifa University in the UAE, led by Vice President Ashraf Al Najdawi, visited the College of Smart Energy (CSE) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The delegation was received by Professor Huang Zhen, founding dean of the college and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Han Dong, vice dean of the college.

During the visit, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on a range of collaborative topics, with a focus on exploring potential cooperation in areas such as short-term student programs, faculty workshops, academic exchanges, industry-university-research collaboration, and high-end non-degree education.

The delegation also toured the college’s smart campus platform and energy plaza, where they gained detailed insights into CSE’s innovative achievements and practical experience in digitalizing energy systems and implementing smart energy demonstration projects. The delegation showed keen interest in the related technology applications and demonstration outcomes.

That afternoon, the delegation proceeded to the Minhang Campus for a university-level cooperation and exchange meeting. Vice Dean Han Dong attended the meeting on behalf of the college and presented an overview of CSE’s development and cooperation proposals.

This visit has strengthened mutual trust and consensus between the College of Smart Energy and Khalifa University, laying a solid foundation for advancing substantive collaboration in talent development, scientific research innovation, and industry-university-research integration.
