From August 3 to 13, 2025, Shanghai Jiao Tong University successfully hosted the "Future Energy" International Summer School. Twenty-nine outstanding students from world-leading universities, including Imperial College London (UK), Cornell University (USA), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany), and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, gathered in Shanghai to engage in in-depth exchanges and practical exploration on cutting-edge energy topics.

With the theme of "Future Energy," this summer school adopted diverse formats including academic lectures, practical courses, thematic seminars, and field visits, aiming to explore cutting-edge fields, broaden international perspectives, and provide participants with an immersive learning experience. The program featured a carefully designed curriculum centered on frontier academic lectures, delivered by a faculty team of 12 professors and scholars from Shanghai Jiao Tong University as well as universities in Germany, the United Kingdom, and India. Drawing on their years of research expertise, the lecturers provided systematic explanations on topics such as energy transition, energy storage technologies, virtual power plants, intelligent microgrids, strategies for addressing climate change, and AI-powered energy systems.

The courses also included a special session for visiting energy laboratories, enabling students to closely observe the development process of the latest energy technologies, deepen their understanding of classroom knowledge, and experience firsthand the fascinating charm of innovation in energy science and technology.

This summer school serves as an important component of the college's international efforts. By establishing a cross-border exchange platform, it has promoted the professional growth of young scholars in the field of energy technology and further advanced the construction and development of international cooperation networks among institutions. In the future, the college will continue to deepen international collaboration, support the growth of young students, and jointly explore innovative paths for sustainable energy development.
